Rakugo is a form of traditional Japanese entertainment. A lone performer sits on stage and tells a variety of stories. Some are funny, some are sad, and both incorporate dialogue between multiple characters, who are distinguished by the changing directions of the performer's face.
Kimochi has considered himself a freelance English performer since 2013.
He re-started learning English at the age of thirty in 2004 - he's actually only been abroad for a mere eight days in his life - and got to know about English rakugo in the middle of his ‘English-learning journey’ in 2010. Now, he has 35 English rakugo stories including his own original ones. Most audiences find his English rakugo "addictive" since his performance always shows something new. He's planning to visit Michigan, U.S.A. this November in order to showcase this traditional form of Japanese entertainment.
Nowadays, he receives a lot of offers to perform or host workshops from many different organizations such as companies, high schools, and universities.
He's also a Toastmaster. He's just set his first step on the big hill ahead,
the top of which is the "World Champion of Public Speaking.""
