While strolling through Odenmachi, a manufacturing town which flourished during the Edo period (1603-1868), you will come across Edoya. This little shop with its modern-looking facade was established in 1718 and specialises in brushes. Step in and gaze at all the different kinds of brushes carefully handmade by local craftsmen – think traditional Edo brushes, ones for clothes or shoes, toothbrushes, makeup brushes and more. Feel the nostalgia in these cherished everyday life-tools.
