Longstanding underground fetish party Department H hosted their popular, annual ‘Dai-Gomu-Sai’ event for the eighth time. Last year’s event was postponed due to various circumstances, but this year they pulled out all of the stops as usual in May. It was held at Uguisudani’s Tokyo Kinema Club, which still retains the bearings of an old Showa cabaret. In recent years, the event, with its focus on rubber fashion, has become quite popular with both domestic and foreign latex lovers.

Peter W. Czernich from Germany, who has had great influence in the fetish scene (and not just amongst latex lovers), participated in a fashion show by haute couture rubber brand Kurage. There was also a showing of a new art piece, ‘Wasteland’, by artists Saeborg, which incorporated live music by Carl Stone, one of the pioneers of computer music. Last but not least, there was a runway filled with latex fans in their favourite costumes. It was just the tip of the iceberg at this event, which kept things hot and steamy until dawn.
