Nobumasa Kushino Outside Japan Exhibition
‘Outsider art’ generally refers to the works of people who have not received a formal education in art. This movement was triggered by the Art Brut Japonais Exhibition that was first held in Paris in 2010 and attracted a horde of 120,000 visitors. It is a new movement in art that has generated a lot of interest worldwide.
This time, at the Outside Japan Exhibition by Nobumasa Kushino, over 70 people who can’t live without creative expression will have their creations displayed. Look forward to seeing over 2,000 carefully curated works by talented hidden artists including works of artists living with disabilities.

About Nobumasa Kushino
Kushino is Japan's only ‘outsider’ curator. He lives in Hiroshima Prefecture. Having worked at facilities for people with intellectual disabilities since 2000, Kushino is also in charge of curating art for the Tatsuno Tsu Museum located in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture. This is an independent project from the outsider art gallery Kushino Terrace, opened in April of 2016. To celebrate those who can’t live without creative expression, he dedicates his time to writing, planning exhibitions, organizing events and tours as he conducts interviews across the country.
